About the Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour

Every October, just as the hills turn and the back roads glow with color, artists across the region open their studio doors and invite the public in.

The Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour is a self-guided weekend where art is experienced where it actually happens — in barns, spare rooms, sheds, and purpose-built studios tucked into small towns and rural landscapes. Visitors are welcome to wander, linger, ask questions, and see the tools, materials, and sometimes the mess that makes creative work real.

It’s an opportunity to meet the people behind the work, hear the stories, and understand the time and care that go into each piece. The tour includes a wide range of fine art and craft — pottery, painting, fiber, wood, glass, mixed media, and more — all made by artists who live and work here.

Many artists offer work for sale during the tour. Buying directly from the artist gives you a deeper connection to the piece — you know who made it, how it was made, and where it comes from. It’s also one of the most direct ways to support working artists and help keep creative studios thriving in our communities.

This self-guided  tour is free and open to everyone. Some visitors come every year, others discover us by accident while leaf-peeping. All are equally welcome.

At its heart, the Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour is about connection: between artist and visitor, hand and material, landscape and season. It’s a chance to slow down, take a scenic drive, and experience creativity in a way that’s personal, grounded, and unhurried.

We’re glad you found us. Come see what we’re making.
